Ohio is very very aggressive in collections.
There was a news story a while back where a woman was arrested for owing $150 in local taxes, I believe. Most of the $150 was failure to file penalties and only $10-$15 was income tax.
File it....and pay it. |

YES: $8.00 IS A MOVIE TICKET FOR MY KID - TWO SUPER VALUE MEALS AT MICKEY D'S - ONE ROUND OF BEER AT THE SUPERBOWL. Yea, don't seem like a lot, but the fine of $25.00 for not sending it in and $2.56 in interest to wait a year to pay it, is not worth it.
Usually most states will have a cut off level for fund for taxes, ($2.00) any thing over this and the bears come after you. |

yes you do. if you don't, they will most likely audit you and trust me you do not want to get audited because after the fines and everything else, that $8.00 is going to turn into several hundred dollars so just pay it. it will save you a lot of problems in the long run. |

If you owed 50 cents, I'm sure you'd have to pay it. It'd be worth your "hassle" to pay it to avoid the interest and penalties they will impose it you don't. |
