It sounds to me like the government is stimulating the IRS, or itself. Since money cannot be moved from one fund to another without an act of congress, the administration has found a way to fund it's war plans by discuising this transfer as a stimulus package, which takes any monies owed to the IRS from your stimulus check and makes them available to be allocated somewhere else at their discression. The money is not for the people, and definately not for those who need it the most right now. It's a joke. Political smoke and mirrors. As a republican, I am embarrassed.

IRS will take what you owe before you see a cent of the stimulus check.

With a number of 93, your check would be mailed by July 11. But if you owe the IRS, any amount you owe will be deducted and kept, and if you owe more than the check, it will ALL be kept and applied to what you owe.

They'll probably deduct what you owe and send a paper check for the balance - to be mailed no later than 7/4/08
Ms. Angel..
No you don't get the stimulus rebate if you owe IRS, it will be offset to your balance.

I have heard that if you owe the irs you DO NOT get a stimulus check. Hope this helps. If you haven't already done it, you can go to the irs website and they should have the answer. Peace.

You have to file your 2007 taxes in order to get the stimulas. If you don't you won't get it. Since you haven't filed taxes since '93 this should be because you meet the requirements that you don't have to (below mandatory income). As soon as you file your 2007 taxes you will eligible for the stimulas. You can get distribution information for your stimulas at www.irs.gov.

If you owe more then the amount of the check they will keep the check, if you owe less they will send you the remaining balance. I believe all checks should be recieved by the end of june.
