Obviously, if the Treasury did not receive tax pounds then, eventually everything would grind to a halt. eg NHS, Social Security, old age pensions, emergency services, the armed services etc. The problem is that today's tax pays next week's costs so there is no piggy bank from which payments could be made.
However, very few of us pay tax every month directly and so it would be our employers who would be the criminals, since they would be the ones to withhold the tax after deducting it from your pay. So you would not even have the satisfaction of not paying your tax. |

Probably wouldn't mess up are system, but the governments system. Then of course we'd have to pay back the taxes unless some how it was legitimate that we didn't have to pay the taxes for 3 months, which would be highly unlikely considering the government has such a strong hold on us tax payers money. |
