If you are unemployed do you still have to pay council tax?
Nope go to social get a housing benefit and council tax benefit form and they will pay it for you

Unemployed and Aslysum seekers dont pay any council tax.

It depends on whether you have any other income or savings. Go to your local council office or CAB if you are unsure. If you are receiving JSA or income support alone and have no savings you probably wont have to pay from the time you submit your rebate form. Good luck!

If you are on income support i don't believe you do. if you are drawing any other benefit like i am, i am on working families tax credit. Then the council tax is reduced but you still have to pay.
When you are on income support most things are paid for you, your prescriptions you get free school dinners and you get your rent paid if you are renting. You also get a grant for school uniform at certain times of a childs life. much better to go out to work tho. If i didn't work i'd go nuts!
