If you are eligible to receive the rebate, then yes, the letter doesn't mean anything. I got my rebate today (last 2 are 03) and I never got a letter. |

Yes, if you qualify. And if you got the first letter (which said you MAY be eligible for....) but didn't qualify on your 2007 tax return, you won't get it. |

I never got a letter, nor did i get the money yet. still waiting.
i went to the irs website to track my stimulus payment and still nothing. if you track yours on the irs website it may help you out. |

The initial letter was mailed to anyone who filed a 2006 tax return. In my opinion, it was a colossal waste of money.
People who didn't get one might get the rebate.
People who did get one might not. |

It depends. If you owe any back taxes, child support judgments etc. then they take it from the check. Also..if you filed late or close to the deadline, you would most likely not get a letter either. |
