I am not freaking out or ungrateful for this money. My point is, I was under the impression that the money would be direct deposited into my account this week. I am very appreciative to even receive it, it is just frustrating to find out that I was misinformed about when I would get it. Yes, I planned some financial things based around this money for this week. Paying bills, grocery shopping, filling up my tank ( I never fill up!) etc. It would have just been nice to "catch up". Yes, I have a job and make ends meet, but this would have been a great help to me. I am not greedy or spazzing, just behind and need the help. So to all of you out there that are calling people spazzes and greedy Americans, look at the big picture. A lot of us are struggling and have been for a long while. The money will come when it comes, but it just would have been nice to have it sooner! That's all.

I am in the same boat and my h&r block specially told me to make sure I got dd, so I will get my rebate check faster, maybe he didn't know that taking the fees out would matter. I hope you get it soon.

And don't listen the comments people get, I have dealt with that guy before he is real jerk. Like the world wont survive without his wise a*s comments. I really hope you get your money soon.

It certainly would have been good to know this when the news all reported that those who got a direct deposit would be expecting payments on such and such a date...... particularly for those who live from paycheck to paycheck. Not only can I not get my state to actually go after my deadbeat for back child support, now the government is doing the same.

I know its horrible. HR Block told me and my husband we would recieve our direct deposit on our emerald card because thats how we recieved our fed tax return and even though we had ral and fees taken out it would not matter so I would be getting mine this week. So for the last couple weeks I have been depending on getting it, I believed HR Block knew what they were talking about. So as for BriarKat who posted about true colors and free money I have five kids to buy summer clothes for and three have birthdays this summer we were counting on it. So keep the rude thoughts to yourself and you have no idea about any of us or our lives!!!!!!!! When you are told of money coming at a certain time and you have a large family you expect it and budget on it, ok. If we wouldnt of been told the 5th thru 9th we wouldnt of depended on it!!

Alot of people are right there with you. I really wish someone would have told us, we would have just paid the fees right there.

And I also have 2 kids and I am not sure where that other person is going shopping but kids clothes do cost money. Groceries have gone up gas is almost $4/gallon and I was recently laid off so that doesn't help the situation. Not everyone has low bills and piles of money in the bank. Don't let the negative cranky people get to you.

Good luck to you.

And I agree about that briarkat person, no need for snide rude comments. People don't need to be nasty to each other.

I can understand your frustration over the delay. Because of the economy (fuel prices) my hours have been cut at work and I am a single mom of 4 boys (15, 14, 9 and 15 mos) so i will be using this extra money to ensure food on the table and to pay my rent. The IRS site shows I should get mine on the 9th. I am grateful that this money is coming. For those that think this question was rude in the way it was presented I would agree, but stress over money does cause frustration which can cause people to act in a way that is not normal for them.

Most likely.

Yes, you used direct deposit, but by having your fees deducted from your refund, it was not the IRS that directly deposited it to your bank account.

When the IRS deposited your refund, they deposited into an account at a third-party bank where your fees for having your taxes done and also the fees due to the bank for that service are first deducted, then the rest was disbursed to you by that third party bank (not the IRS) either by direct deposit, or by check. The only direct deposit info the IRS has on your return is for the third-party bank, not your personal account.

That is why they have to send you a paper check. After all, how can the IRS deposite the rebate into your bank account when they don't even know where it is?

WOW - aren't we a bundle of happiness! This is a free handout. How can you get mad because it's not coming fast enough. Children's clothes don't cost THAT much (I know - I have 2 boys to clothe, feed, etc... - by myself). You should just be grateful that you're getting a rebate at all!

Yes. This info is posted on the IRS website and turbotax website (if you used that).

P'd off about getting "free" money? Amercians sure show their true colors around here.
