If you specified direct deposit for your refund, you'll get your refund that way.
If you did not, you will get a paper check.
Using turbo tax does not matter, only whether you specified direct deposit or not. |

From what I have been told if you had your fees deducted from your return thru them then you will get a paper check. |

This was on Turbo Tax's website (looks like paper checks for us!):
Economic stimulus payments
Economic stimulus payments are also known as "tax rebates" and are a result the recent enactment of the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008.
Although the IRS encouraged tax filers to elect to have their rebates deposited directly into their bank accounts, some filers will only be able to receive theirs by mail. They include filers who conducted certain financial transactions, such as paying filing fees from the proceeds of their tax refunds, using third parties, such as SBB&T.
This applies even to taxpayers who used the services of the bank and got, or will get, their regular tax refunds by direct deposit. |

If you indicated direct deposit on your turbo tax information then you will not get a paper check. if you indicated that you wanted a paper check then you will. |

Not if you gave the government Direct Deposit (Bank account & ABA number) information for your original refund. |

I called the IRS and they told me that is would still be DD into my account. This just proves they don't know what they are talking about. One agent says on thing and another something else. I did read about people getting theirs DD and they filed through TT and got there fees deducted. Your original 1040 or whatever you filed has you banking info on it and that goes straight to the IRS...NOT SBB&T. I'll let you know when I get mine...hopefully sometime soon. I am #15. |

If you used the free version and paid no fees directly from your refund you can get DD, but if you had fees taken out directly from your refund it was through a 3rd party which results in a paper check.. Just got off the phone with IRS.. Next time we know pay our fees with a debit or credit card!!! |

It doesn't matter how you filed - it matters how you got your tax return. If you got your tax return direct deposited, the stimulus payment will be direct deposited also. |

Did you enter your bank information for the direct deposit refund? Then yes, if not, no they will mail it to you. |
