Why would you assume we would SPEND it? The WORST thing you could do, and really stick it to the governement is to SAVE it. Even worse is invest it in a fund that invests in foreign markets. Spending it plays right into the governments hands, and they know 90% will make a bee line to Wal Mart for a HD TV and become tranquilized in front of it. So, rage against the machine and save that check!

It will just go into my big savings account. I do not spend every dollar that comes in the mail.

claws_4_u
Once its in my hands then I will decide.

pr_ritz81
its suppose to be an economic stimilis. bush wants us to spend it on the economy, and buy something extra.. but everyone thinks they will receive 300-600 a piece, which is not true. you are eligible for that amount yes..will you receive it all in may?? NO! you will get the min, or your taxable liabilty , which ever is less, if you have funds left over, it will be a credit on next years taxes.

Donna H
save it, it will make up the difference that I don't receive next year when they take it out of my refund.

andy
I would put a good amount towards credit card debit than with the left over I would get my third tattoo while my girlfriend gets her second.

Straight to my savings account, just like my refund.

You're wondering if ANYBODY made plans for spending their tax bonus.

You of course mean, ANYBODY at all!

Billions of dollars to millions of people... what could the answer possibly be?

This is games show material for sure!

I'm going to pay down my credit card bills down. Then I'm going to have to change my W-4 so enough of my paycheck is taken out to repay this rebate next year. Remember, whatever amount your check is, deduct that from your federal tax refund or liability. For example, a couple's "rebate" of $1200: If you got a refund of $1200 this year, you will get a refund of $0 this year. If you owed $1200, next year you'll owe $2400. This is not free or extra money. I'll bet when tax time comes around next year a lot of people are going to owe money they don't have.
