In canada do they have to pay tax?????????????

Cool2Fool
Yes..

You do have to pay tax in Canada. There is a Government Sales Tax (GST) on most items you buy as well as a Provincial Sales Tax (PST). The GST is 5% at the moment and the PST varies per province, I know that Alberta's is 0%, Saskatchewan's is 6%, and Ontario's is 8%, not sure about the other provinces. There is also the income tax you have to pay for having a job. Property taxes for owning property, all that fun stuff.

So in short YES.

Yes we Canadians pay all kinds of taxes and government user fees.

Amongst them:
- income tax
- sales tax
- value-added tax (GST)
- luxury tax
- property tax
- land transfer tax
- probate tax (well our estates pay that)
- and so on...........
