But why have they always been circular? It wastes paper and the Post Office could get more in a book if they were square. And despite the perforations, its still tricky getting the disc out. |

It is much easier to remove a sticker or decal
that is square - by scraping off a corner from
whatever it's stuck to & peeling it away.
So, to make it difficult for vandals to remove, they were made round. |
