In the uk is it fraud for a pensioner to work fulltime and claim state pension i dont mean a private pension?
i mean a pension through the dhss i know it is not illegal to keep on working after 65 but i thought the goverment has allowed this to save on pension benefits this is for uk only
=not sure about the UK, but here in the states not at all. For the most part they have put in the time and have already paid state taxes on that money.

No, but you have to make a full declaration on your tax return.

No, i think the state pension is indepedent of earnings so you can work.
I doubt all those people appearing in B&Q would work for that wage if they had to give thier pension.
Grinning ape: That made me laugh.....thanks

If you carry on working after claiming your State Pension, your earnings will not affect how much State Pension you get. But if you get an increase for a dependant, their earnings may affect how much increase you get for them.

Then they have an income so it would make a difference but obviously not if they worked off the cards !!

I believe its the same as through any state benefit you can only work 16 hours a week

Have a look here: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/leaflets/ir121.pdf If in any doubt, do ask for clarification at DHSS. They should have advice and information on hand.
