Income from Home trascription is 4000/month. Is it compulsory to pay tax?

CaptAnil
48000 rs pa is below the minimum returns required !
You can file 'Zero returns' But this is not compulsory. I will advise you do file as this increases your credit worthiness and if you want any loan they will ask for the Income proof ! The filing is the proof . Hope it helps.

You need to consult income tax experts regarding calculation of the amount of tax you should pay.

If you have no other income other than this transcription amount, then no need to file any returns.

If you have any other income other than this said income, then club all your incomes and if they are more than the below given figures, then you have to file your returns.

If you are a Male your tax free income is Rs.1,10,000 per year

If you are a Female your tax free income is Rs.1,45,000 p/year

4000 what a month? Dollars, rupees? And I'm curious, where/what do you transcribe? Sometimes I need a transcriptionist when I'm too busy. Other times, I look for transcription work during slow times.
