WOW! Seems like the same thing has happened to alot of us! I have been checking irs.gov "where's my refund" and also the telephone line which you can call directly 1-800-829-1954 for an automated response. When I initially checked the direct deposit cycle chart it said mine would be deposited by jan 30, 2009 and then online it said by feb 3rd...that was until this morning....as of about 8am today it has been saying Feb 10th. I am FREAKING OUT!! I am wondering if it is a turbo tax thing? That's what I used..what about anyone else? PLEASE PLEASE people update this if you get any info so the rest of us can know when we MIGHT get our money..lol...its my money and i want it NOW!! |

It's the IRS what do you expect?
You'll know the correct date when you get your refund. |

I had the same thing happen to me. It seems like this happened last year too. When I called today they told me that they recieved a large amount of early returns this year and with adverse weather across the country not all centers are fully staffed. Hopefully that is all it is. Anyone else hear anything different? |

Same thing happened with me. I did not claim any additional recovery rebate, not owed any additional. I called the IRS and was told that they could not log into the screen that would give them the information they needed to answer my questions. I really think they are stumped on this one. Maybe it will all be changed in the morning and this will be a fond memory. |

That also happened to me! It was saying 2/3 up until today it said 2/10! the lady on the phone said that there was something on my return that was rejected and sent to another department, however, the call center for the refund is having technical difficulties. I also didn't see an error message. They don't know why it rejected after it was already accepted! I would feel better if I at least I knew what the problem was, and how I can correct it! |

mine said february 3rd until this morning then it said feb 10th. when i called irs they said that my tax refund was sent to the corrections department, and they don't have the code that was used to let them know what it was that was wrong. i think it 's about the economy that for sure. i never had this problem before. |

Let me guess claimed last years rebate is owed, they have had many people trying to rip them off on that so your return has been delayed while they check out the validity of your claim. |

same happen here. I called the Irs and she said that mines was sent to the correction department but she don't know why. And that I should get it by 02/13, but I checked irs website snd now it says that it cannot find my refund also I checked the automatied line and it says that I should receive my refund by 2/10..this is sooo confusing . why are they messing up refund this year. I never had a problem before. |

Mine changed as well. I have heard that some people's changed to 1/28 - which is unheard of from what I know. I didn't think the IRS did any deposits on any other day but Fridays. |

this same thing happened to me. my return was accepted on the 18th, and up until yesterday my refund status said feb 3rd. now it says feb 10th. i have tried to get a hold of a live person at the IRS, but have been unsuccessful so far.
i DID make one mistake though, i think. i think that i typed in the amount of my earlier stimulus rebate incorrectly. i didn't realize that of course, until today. i am hoping that really has nothing to do with why my date got changed and that i'm just in the same boat as the rest of you and hopefully i'll get my DD on the 30th.
oh, and to the person who asked...i DIDN'T use turbo tax. i did my taxes myself, as always, and used the same e-filing service that i've been using for the past 6 years (i've never had a problem or made a mistake before). so, i don't think turbo tax is the issue....or at least, not the ONLY issue.
UPDATE: checked my account this morning (jan. 30th), and no refund. darn! my state hasn't gone in yet, either, and i filed both on the 16th. this is the longest my refunds have EVER taken, and it's really irritating. |

Mine did the same thing. Last night it said deposited in my bank account on Jan.23 and I should get by Jan. 28th. Then I just checked it on the Irs website and now it says it will be deposited on Jan. 30th and I have until Feb. 4th to get. I used Tax Act. |

I have recieved my state refund but not the federal. Initially it was on the 3rd but now the 10th. Do not know what to tell you but since they have the money we all just have to wait. It S***S. you would think they would understand and get this money out since we all need it, or we wouldn't filed our taxes so soon.
I have heard it was a glitch but with all these people talking about it they probably just moved it since the govenrment is broke anyway from bailing out the theives at the banks. |

Check again. If the date stays the same then that is when the refund will be issued. Remember you are dealing with the government. |

I CHECKED THE BANK, IT IS NOT PENDING YET. IT SAID ON THE WEBSITE I SHOULD OF RECIEVED FUNDS TODAY!!! BUT NO FUNDS! |

I called the Irs She told me that Nothing has lefted yet still being processed and the first batch wont leave out ill JAN 30 th and then if its being direct deposited check with my bank for further status But mine also changed to FEB 10th so just on the 30th Check check check and stay call your bank see if on the 30th its pending atleast then you know its there pending, |

hmmm?? that stinks.. something could have happened to hold it up.
one year that happened to me. it was like a week or 2 late, i was having a heart attack.
i was calling and getting all different types of answers.. what happened was somewhere in the process someone at the irs did something incorrect with my return.. and it held it up.. it can be the smallest thing, a number going on the wrong line and it'll hold it up.
my return was in all different types of departments, etc..
i'd don't know what to tell you, i'd pry be checking and calling every day.. LOL |

I called last night , 1-800-829-1040, the guy I talked to said he didn't know why ours had been pushed back but it had, he also said it may yet come in sooner.He also made it sound like a computer issues that changed the dates. I am hoping the chart is what they will be going by and we will have the money by the 30th as well.
We used H & R Block- free e-file as always, never before have we had issues. |

mine is showing the same thing. It said the 3rd then the 10th and WHILE I was on the phone with an irs rep....she said she shows that they do not even have a return for me yet. So while on the phone with her I checked on the irs site and what do you know....it shows they do not even have mine yet. WTF is going on?? |

The same thing happened to me...It is really making me worry. I called the IRS number all I got was the same info that was on there website. I guess I just have to wait...let me know if you guys find anything out. |

I got the same answer until last night (2:am) then it said the 28TH. My son said his still said the 2/3/09. Now as of 9:50am the phone line, and the website for "where's my refund" are not working... Crazy.. |
