Is 1040ez federal?
If it is then where do I get the state form? And is that all I need to file my taxes?

The 1040ez is an abbreviated version of the 1040 form. Both are standard Federal forms that are used to file your federal tax return. If you don't have many investments (stocks, bonds, etc.), tax write-offs, or other tax deductions (real estate property taxes, mortgage) then the 1040ez should be sufficient. If you're not sure which form to use you can call the Federal Internal Revenue Service (IRS) at their toll free number and they should be able to help you.
As for obtaining the state tax form, you can go to any post office and most banks to get a copy.

Yes. Go to the local post office, they have all the forms you need.

Make sure that you get the full benefit of your refund by staying far away from H & R Block or one of those other commercial places. The IRS has a program called VITA that does free tax preparation for households earning $40,000 or less. They can make sure that you get all your eligible credits, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit, the Child Tax Credit, the Dependent Care Credit, etc.

This is an absolutely FREE service. They can e-file and do direct deposit so that you can get your return back in 7-10 days. There is no need to get a refund anticipation loan, which is really nothing more than a high interest loan where you would be paying to borrow your own money. You have worked hard for your money and you should be able to keep it! To find a VITA free tax site near you, call the IRS at: 1-800-829-1040.

I work with the VITA sites in Nashville and know that it can make a huge difference for working families. www.unitedwaynashville.org/nwba.

You can access a 1040-EZ on www.irs.gov. You can even type in the information than print it out. That is all you need if you are doing a simple return (like just W-2's.) Don't forget to file with your state return and city (if needed.)

Yes, 104 EZ is federal. For state forms, check your state website, post office, or local library. It might be a little early yet to get your state forms, depending on the state. I'm in PA - the basic ones aren't on the website yet, and haven't been received by our local library.

Form 1040 EZ is for Federal (IRS) income tax purposes only. Federal tax forms are located at your local post office, and perhaps your state's income tax forms are also located there.

To file Form 1040EZ, you must meet certain criteria in terms of income level, amount of any interest income, and must take the standard deduction.

1040EZ is a federal tax form that you can use if you claim no Dependents or deductions i think it is the easiest form of all the tax forms.

go to your states website
I know Indiana is IN.gov like most other states go with the initials and .gov
or post office or library
you need to make sure to have all you w-2s if you worked more than one job. I see alot of people forget about the job they had for a week or two and than have to amend their taxes
