I hope so! Your not ill, disabled or unable to work. Back in my day (and I am only 27) people got a part time job!
My partner came from a poor back round, he got £5 pocket money a week when he was 15 and got a job when he went to college at 16!
If he can do it, and our relatives before, then why can't this current young generation?
When I was at school we didn't ANY free travel, NO money from the government and until you got a Job or turned 18 it was your parent's responsibilty to care for you and your needs!
There are disabled and ill people who cannot work who have no choice but to be on state benefits and would love to be as free as the young people today are.
Many of these people are in dire poverty and can do nothing about it!
Quite frankly the EMA is a waste of time! Sorry! Get off your backside and get a job!

not sure if the ema is being affected i hope not as this is what is keeping my 18yr old son of the dole, he has tried for jobs but as he was educationaly challenged he left schol with very little education, he has been going to collage since leaving school and college is helping him form real life situations were eventually he will have to survive on his own,
and as for no free travel to school i dont were the other person grew up but i travelled to school from were i lived via bus and qualified for free bus pass and i am now in my 40's our family lives on goverment hand outs at the moment because my husband is on the sick claiming dla so son going to college helps us |

Azrial, that was the most ignorant answer i have ever heard.
Don't presume that everyone is the same!
I bet in your day, you didn't have school lasting from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday. With a mentally ill mother who needed your help bringing up another child in your 'spare' time, along with 4 hours homework each night, JUST so that you could try and do better for yourself.
If i didn't have the money, I couldn't carry on with schooling, because the cost of school uniform alone was over £400 and never mind books.
And to be perfectly honest, im sure you would have appreciated having it, so get off your high-horse. Thanks. |
