By the time you've organized your forms in order for them to file a correct return, you've done most of the work yourself and could save a lot of money with a free program like taxact.com - or check www.irs.gov to see if you can use the free online filing they offer.
For most taxpayers these free sources are adequate and dependable. If your returns are more complex, H&R Block representatives may not have the level of expertise you need. Check the credentials of whomever you work with. |

I have used their online services for two years now. I prefer their program to turbotax.com or any of the other websites you can use. Haven't had any problems so far, except the fact that my state tax keeps getting pulled for review! |

Been using H&R Block for probably 15 years or more and have never once had a problem with them.
PS...I always use their online program. It takes you step by step and is cheaper then going into their offices. |

Depends on preparer, like anything else. Both Block and Jackson Hewitt have training programs for preparers, but some are more experienced and knowledgeable than others. Both charge for their services and both guarantee against their own errors. How complex is your return? For a fairly ordinary return, any of their trained preparers should be fine, but they are franchises and some give only lip service to the requirements. |

i have ask several of my freinds and other people about h&r and they all have told me NO. h&r is not a good place to have your taxes done because they are only part time accounts looking for fast cash from us the tax payers |

well, it may be trusted, but the fact remains that they have part time people doing the taxes. all u need is ashort 'training' course n u cud do taxes too...so i m noy sure if its a good idea! |

I work for HR Block starting this year and I really like them. I always used Turbo Tax and now see I missed deduction. I took a 91 hour class required by the California Tax Education Council. I have been doing my own taxes for 23 years. I must do 30 hours of continuing education every year. Some of my coworkers have been in the office for 27 years |

My opinion is that if you are organized to take your stuff to H&R Block, then you can probably use their program on your own for less $$$ and get the same outcome. |
