This tax is usually paid over 10 months, however you can ask that the term is extended to 12 months. This is usually done by most councils as it will decrease the monthly payment you need to make (with out them reducing the total due)
For example if you were lucky enough to have a bill of £1000. Over 10 months it would be £100. If you did it over 12 months it would be about £83.50 (give or take a little)
