The amount you receive will be based on your tax liability as shown on your 1040 for 2007. It will be between $300 and $600 each.
To figure what your 2007 tax liability was, add the amount shown on line 57 on your 1040 form for 2007, plus the amount on Line 52.
For 1040A filers, it is the amount on Line 35 plus the amount on Line 32.
For Form 1040EZ filers, it is the amount on Line 10.
If that total is less than $300, you'll receive $300. If it's more than $300 but less than $600, you'll receive that amount. If it's $600 or more, you'll receive $600. |

No thats not true. My husband and I got the minimum of $600 for married couples, 1200 is the max. We got the min because we had no tax liability. |

No.
Some married couples are only getting $600.00 if their income was too low. |

Many get less. You only get the maximum $1200 if you had that much net federal income tax liability for 2007. Many people don't pay any tax, or pay very little - many of them will get the basic $600. |

No. $1200 is the MAX a married couple can receive. Some (us included) are only getting $600 a couple. |

The rebate payment will equal the amount of tax liability on the return (tax liability on the return Form 1040 line 46 or Form 1040A line 28) with a minimum amount of $300 and a maximum amount of $600 for individuals.
For information on stimulus tax rebate schedule, the eligibility and how much rebate you will get read: http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/02/are-you-eligible.html |

No..many wont qualify for the full $1200. It depends what your tax liability is. |

no it depends on your income and if you have any dependents. |

I just called the IRS and they explained a lot to me. In order to get the full $1200, you HAVE to had paid in extra taxes last year. Since my hubby and I did not, we only get $300 per person. So, example: if you paid in $850 extra in taxes then you would only get $850, not $1200. If you had to pay in $1500 in taxes extra, you can only get the max of $1200. If you didn't have to pay extra...then you only get $300 per person. The IRS guy told me that on the phone!!
This is going to make a ton of ppl mad when they don't get the full amount!! It is going to be a mess, b/c many have already spent their $1200!! OH WELL! |

The rebate varies depending upon the amount of your adjusted gross income. The calculator is accurate. You need to make sure you are putting the information in accurately from your tax return. No not every couple will get $1200. Some will only receive $600 and some will receive none. |
