Is everyone getting the tax rebate?
my parents don't think they are getting anything back

The tax rebate is based on your 2007 earnings and Federal Income Tax liability.

You would be eligible to receive a rebate of up to $600 if you paid that much in Federal Income Tax. If you only paid $350 in taxes (less than the $600 rebate limit), you only get back $350. If you had earned income or social security of at least $3000, you would get at least the minimum rebate of $300. Similarly, couples filing jointly can receive up to $1200. If you qualify for a rebate, you will receive $300 for each dependent child under 17.

Use the Kiplinger rebate tax calculator (link below) to compute your rebate.

It all depends on how much they make. If they make over so much in taxable income then, no they will not get one back. So if they made over about $170,000, then nope. I don't know exact amounts, but it is a lot.

Not everyone, but if your parents don't think they are getting anything, why is that?

YEAH!!! I have to say though, one client was PISSED because he sold a ton of stock and his wife got her pension for the first time in 2007 and it pushed his AGI up very high so he was not able to deduct his rental losses, his son's tuition, AND he gets $69 of a stimulus payment. Sucks for him!

If they filed a 2007 federal income tax return and had over $3000 earned income on it, they'll get a rebate. Nobody gets $69. The least amount being sent is $300 for each taxpayer and the most is $600.

If their annual income is over $150,000, then no, they won't get the tax rebate. It is $600 to singles making less than $75,000; or $1,200 to couples making less than $150,000.

I am NOT getting anything back due to the fact that I am disabled and I have been drawing a disability check for the last year and a half. It sucks. To be honest I can't wait until next month I start back to work again. :-)

Must Be The Clouds In My Eyes
