Is everyone who made over $3,000 dollars getting the tax refund. i made 5,200 but my parents claimed me?
does anyone know for sure?

If your parents claim you as a dependent, you will be ineligible for the rebate, but you may still benefit under the plan.

While the rebate depends on your 2007 status and income, it is actually a rebate toward your 2008 taxes. According to the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, taxes would be cut in 2008 from 10 percent to zero percent on the first $6,000 dollars of taxable income for individual taxpayers.

So if you have taxable income in 2008, you will see a tax cut when you file in 2009.

No, if you are a dependent you aren't eligible.

If you cant claim yourself, you are screwed.........Call it rent for the year.

coleblondehead
No, if somebody else claimed you you
wont get the rebate check. Since i have a
daughter with your situation, I called IRS
and they said no, youll get the check
from your return, but no rebate check.
I know it sucks, dont it?

vaughnc5920
If your parents claimed you, then you cannot get the stimulus payment.

chatsplas
Many people earning over $3000 will receive refunds after filing their tax returns. But if you mean the rebate: Dependents don't receive the stimulus tax rebate, regardless of income. And as you're over 17, your parents don't receive a rebate for you, or a child tax credit either.

I think you mean the economic stimulus plan. A tax refund is different.
As for the economic stimulus plan, unforunately a dependent does not qualify. Whoever claimed you gets another $300 added to their possible stimulus check. So providing you a check as well, would mean they would have to pay out twice for the same social security number.
Hope that helps.
