It's certainly not against the law for a nine year old boy to share a bedroom with a three year old girl.
It is very rare ( and I mean 99.999% unlikely ) that a nine year old is sexually interested in a three year old. If you think of it from his point of view 'his' bedroom is being invaded against his will by a messy dirty wailing infant. Physical abuse (pinching,slapping etc.) is more likely than sexual abuse.
Just to clarify, having read other answers - it is certainly and understandably housing policy for Councils to allow for separate bedrooms for children of those ages, but it isn't against the law for them to share - otherwise family caravan and camping holidays would be illegal.
Remember the child is only nine, and it is not his fault that his mother hooked up with your ex.
It's not ideal, but very few things are. Have you considered buying a folding bed or a cot and putting it somewhere else in the flat/house? |

What has become of the world? I have read your question and answers with horror. It's a 9 year old boy for Guinness sake! and we wonder why our society is so crap?! This is taking it to the extreme! It might be against the law but use your common sense and talk to your ex instead of assuming that a 9 year old boy is the next paedophile! |

Having raised two sons I can tell you they can be very shy themselves about their bodies. He needs his personal space just as much as the little girl. |

I know if siblings are sharing a room when the elder gets to 8 years old the council are obliged to move you (if they're opposite sexes).

never do that. your daughter is still young you dont want to put her through anything thats bad i mean she's going to remember it for the rest of her life. dont let ur innocent child suffer always have in mind the different possibilities maybe something bad can happen |

Its not against the law but it is seen as frowned on when the oldest child is above 10. He's a little child himself, he is hardly likely to sexually abuse your daughter fo god sake. It seems you have some jealousy issues that your ex has moved on or because he gets to see his daughter without you there. Get over it!! |

I would very surprised and disgusted if this wasn't against the law. The boy of 9 may well not have the capability of sex but he could be drawn to the little 3 year old, who wouldn't understand what was happening to her and who needs protection.
Can you have a clause added to his access agreement? |

In the UK it is yes! put a stop to it now! even if it was not I would NOT allow it! EDIT FORBIDDEn is very naieve...that law is not a recent one...there have been cases of child on child sexual and physical abuse for CENTURIES....that law is very old..why risk your child? |
