If gross income is crossing, limit of not chargeable to tax then filing of return is necessary though there is no any tax payable. You have not given your income figure.
Your cousin's case is fit to explain the above fact. Your cousin has income of Rs.150000/-. He has to file return though he need not pay any tax due to deductions allowed by income tax act.
Hence you both have to file income tax return. Your cousin can ask his employer to file his return giving full information to him or may file on your own. |

Any person claiming a refund, or carrying forward of loss or who seeking any specific statutory exemption or deduction may also file the income tax return. The return of income has to be compulsorily filed if income exceeds the basic exemption limit |

Why you are obssessed about others. You have to file a return if you are covered under the critewria laid down: Foreign trip, membership of an expensive club, owning a car or house. I am not sure whether the other two have been removed - having a mobile or phone or owning a car. |
