Hopeful | Is it necesary to get a letter of recommendation from a past employer notarized? Will that look good? |
I have a job working as an adminstrative assistant but I get no benefits and not that good of pay so...I am about to start my job search all over again to find something better. But I wanna know if a notarized letter of recommendation would be considered going too far... |

Don`t bother to get it notarized, all they have to do is call to get it verified, if they wish, which is what they will probably do anyway, to verify your employment history, Also, in order for a document to be notarized, it must be signed in the presence of the notary. You would have to get your boss to go to the notary, or get the notary to come to your boss, all in all, not a good idea. |

A notorized letter isn't necessary. Typically, you make photcopies of the original letter to give to prospective employers. You keep the original.
While letters of recommendation are nice, potential employers are still going to want to verify your previous employment. |

Yes, it would be going too far. Just get a plain letter of recommendation, preferably on company letterhead. |

You don't need to notarize the letter. You can tell the prospective employer you have letters of reference, but they usually only ask for them if they're seriously considering to hire you. Generally this would be after at least a first interview.. Then what usually happens is they ask for a contact # to verify the reference. |

Actually it would probably look a little silly to have it notarized. I've never seen one that was. But if you want to ask your former supervisor to have his or her signature notarized, go ahead. |

It would be pointless to get it notarized. I've been an office manager for years and I've never seen anyone hand in a notarized letter of recommendation. |

Yes, too far! |

No honey you don't need to have it notorized. Just make sure you have it on company letterhead and his/her signature in blue. |
