The whole benefits system is ridiculous , and so complicated . This government seems to give away billions of the tax payers money , but is incapable of setting up proper administration to handle the payments .But I don't think you can sue the government , which in effect you would be doing if you took on the inland revenue !! |

If you have written proof from them that they owe you the money write to them and give them 7 days notice in which to pay the Money, or write to you and let you know why them money is not being paid , in that letter tell them that if the money is not paid within 7 days you will commence court action against them, at which time the claiment (you) intends to claim intrest and all court costs. If you do not get a response within 7 days go to your local court pick up a small claim pack and that will tell you what to do from there. This will cost you about £120 If they challange it you will have to go in front of a judge but just one judge you and he other party not a proper court. If you have written proof then there is no reason the judge would not give you judgemet - It is possible to sue them and for it not to cost a fortune. |

Why not ? If you really believe you have a good case then by all means 'sue' them but get a good qualified local lawyer to check YOUR facts and if agreed go ahead. If you do it this way, when the IR know you are taking action, they will possibly settle before any Court hearing . Good Luck |

You could but it would cost you an absolute fortune .. more than what they owe you in fact
Also as it is a governmental agency documents tend to go missing
What i would do is speak to someone high up ensuring you log all the names of people you have spoken to and ask for the address of the complaints dept which should be separate
You should also ask for a copy of your file and a printout of all
the calls you made that have been logged in the system
and the best advice is to pester daily and enquire about if you can claim interest back on the monies you are owed
We had a problem with the csa and it took us 8 years to eventually prove they were wrong .
We requested all the data they had on us and eventually they paid what we were owed with interest
Do not let anyone fob you off
and use the cab they are really good |

Of course you can sue the government, just like you can sue anyone else (except the queen). You need good evidence as in any litigation and decent representation. However, your MP maybe able to unclog the system (it's cheaper!) or try the small claims court. |
