The people who claim that you do not have to file are called "tax protesters". The IRS calls them "tax deniers". Tax protesters will tell you many, many bizarre theories (none of which are correct) but they do neglect to tell you one thing. The fact that no one has ever been victorious in court and gotten out of paying their taxes. Pay your taxes and file your returns. You will be much happier in the long run. Tax protesters always end up broke and alone.

There are many people sitting in jail right now that refused to pay income taxes because they believed it was unconstitutional or illegal.
The Federal Reserve is sort of quasi-federal, but that doesn't matter because they aren't the ones taxing you. The IRS is most assuredly part of the US government! They operate under the Dept of the Treasury.
The Federal Reserve does control some monetary policy and can contribute to poor economies. I think it would be fair to say they helped make the Great Depression "Great" instead of just the "Depression." It's a big stretch to say they caused farm foreclosures. |

And for good reason - why should we have freeloaders around not paying their fair share yet expecting to use public facilities like roads, getting protected by our military, police and fire department protection, healthcare infrastructure, etc. |

Most Americans pay taxes. If you have no income or meet a minimum income limit, then you may be excluded. The most recent public case I remember was Wesley Snipes. He thought he could get away with this. |

This is a scam from someone who wants to sell you something. People that have followed these type of plans have ended up in serious trouble with the IRS later. Some have even ended up in prison.
Trust me, the guy who is trying to sell you this plan, book, or whatever will pay taxes on the money you give him.
The IRS website is www.IRS.gov. The (dot) gov extension is reserved for the United States federal government. If they were not part of the federal government, why do they have the (dot) gov extension? The website for the federal reserve is www.federalreserve.gov. It too has the (dot) gov extension. Both are part of the United States federal government. |
