Is it true that the stimulis check wil not be...........?
direct deposited if you had you return efiled and paid a fee to file? This was news to me today, and I am disappointed, I expected my check yesterday, and It was not there. The check schedule wont be for another month, has anyone else heard this? Thanks

yep I sure heard this because I expected my check today by direct deposit but when it didn't show up in my account, I called the IRS and they explained that if you filed any type of RAC or any refund that you had to pay to get your refund back sooner that you will not receive direct but will receive a paper check sometime in the future like mine is in June. They ,the IRS don't want to pay or charge us any fees to get the money faster. sounds alot of bullsh@t to me!!!!!!!!

willcat777
It's not that it won't be direct deposited if you paid a fee. It's that it won't be direct deposited if you paid that fee by having it taken out of your refund instead of paying it up front at the time you had your taxes prepared.

My fiance and I both used the Tax Act web site to file and we paid our fees with our credit cards. He got his rebate direct deposited last Friday (one week early) and mine is scheduled for this Friday (5/9, on time) according to the "Where's My Stimulus Payment" system on the IRS web site.

Yes I called H&R block yesterday. Thats where I did my taxes and they said if you had bank fees taken out you would get a paper check.

Judy1
Not exactly. If you had the preparer take your fees out of your refund, yes you'll get a paper check. If you paid the fees separately, and the US Treasury deposited your refund to your account, you should get dd for your rebate.

But if you are getting it dd, yesterday wasn't a due date, the date for this week is Friday although SOME get deposited earlier than that.

bostonianinmo
No, it depends upon HOW you paid the fee. If you paid it up front -- cash, check, credit or debit card, etc. -- then you should receive a direct deposit if that's how your refund was paid. However if you had the fees deducted from your refund, you WILL get a paper check in the mail.

yeah if you went with a paper check when you filed you still have about a month or so before you get yours.

Slash
you will get a paper check in the mail instead of Direct Deposit. What I can't understand is when you e-file your taxes the IRS get's a copy of every piece of paper you file and you file the Form 8888 , that is the Direct deposit form that goes directly to the IRS when you file your taxes .That's what confuses me about this whole thing.

Yes...It's stated at the IRS website and Turbotax website.

No that is not true. I paid a fee to file my taxes with TaxCut and I'm scheduled for Friday. What IS true is, if you allowed Turbo Tax, Tax Cut, etc to take their fees from your refund, you will receive a paper check. Most people pay a fee of some sort to file their taxes, if you paid it at the time of filing with a credit/debit card you should be eligible for direct deposit.
