I have been doing some research into the Federal Reserve Bank and how it states in our constitution that hiring a private bank to mint monies for the government is illegal. As a result of the Federal Reserve Bank minting money, the government decided to charge the American people a "Federal Tax" to pay back interest to the Federal Reserve. However, they never put this into law. |

2. You need to find a more reliable source for your research. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing, which is part of the U.S. Treasury, prints all of the paper money. The U.S. Mint, also a part of the U.S. Treasury, mints all of the coins. BTW, the Federal Reserve was setup by Congress and is INDEPENDENT, but it is NOT PRIVATE. Congress had the power to do this under Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution.

Yes, it's in the United States Constitution..."Congress shall have the right to tax".
Private Banks don't "mint monies". All money is minted by the US Department of Treasury.
Minting money is the practice of CREATING money...as in coins, dollar bills, etc.
We don't pay taxes to the Federal Reserve, we pay taxes to the IRS and state and local gov'ts, because the US Constitution gave to the states rights that wasn't SPECIFICALLY reserve for the Federal Gov't or prohibited.
You REALLY need to read up on your history and government. |

Mary B is absolutely right, and wherever you are getting your info, you should stop because you are being grossly misled. Something else, if not paying taxes was legal, why would anybody do it? Why would people have houses taken away, or accounts seized? It's not because it is all a government conspiracy. Your taxes go to a lot of good things in this great country. |

How about this? File your tax return and claim all taxes that were withheld from your paycheck as a refund based upon your arguement. Let us know what happens.
The IRS may issue a refund check to you upon filing your tax return. However, they will still have time to audit you. Once the audit is complete, if there is no significant change in your tax return, then you can tout your arguement on infomercials and become famous like Kevin Trudeau, Billy Mays, and the Clee guy, with the pencil thin mustache, that sells the internal body cleanse and libido enhancer. |

The Federal Reserve does not mint money. The US Treasury does. Based on that fact alone, your entire premise is wrong.

I have heard that there is no law. I haven't done any real research on the matter but after I read your question I found this comment by some guy on ANOTHER website and thought you might find it useful.
"Sorry but the Constitution only allows two types of taxes, Direct and Indirect. As you could see in reading Article 1, Section 8, Clause1: the US Government is “permitted” to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises…etc… In this case taxes are Direct. Direct meaning not able to avoid or under “direct” obligation to pay. Now in the Constitution Article I, Section 2, Clause 3; as well as Article 1, Section 9, Clause4: Direct taxes must be “apportioned among the several states which may be included within this Union” (read apportionment: distributed evenly throughout the states of the Union.) Now moving on to the IRC, Internal Revenue Code. What is a “taxpayer”? well 26 U.S.C. 7701(a) (14) explains: the term “taxpayer” means any person SUBJECT TO any internal revenue tax. (Cap’s added) Now on to “unalienable rights” taxation key, West 933 - the Right to receive income or earnings is a right belonging to every person and realization and receipts of income is therefore not a “privilege that can be taxed”. As backed by the Supreme court (111 US 746, and 236 US 1) now on to IRC Title 26 Subtitle A- Income Tax. Under subtitle A the income tax is to be levied on Non Resident Aliens, Foreign Corporations earning income in the United States, the Withholding agent for Foreign Corporations or Aliens, and finally American’s living aboard (outside the United States). So in answer to your question is there an income tax payable by Americans? Yes definitely, if you fall into one of these categories. Or of course if you are a Corporation. Which of course over 80% of American’s that in essence are “VOLUNTARILY” paying taxes to the U.S. Federal Government that they need not pay. The only issue is, shouldn’t they know the truth about taxes and make their own decision to volunteer their income to the Government or to use it as they see fit? Don’t you believe they have a right to know the truth? If you want to debate these points. . . please do some research and have points to show for your belief’s otherwise you will look uneducated in this matter. Thank you for your time." |

Anyone doing any kind of real legal research would check the court cases involving these claims. They would soon find that all illegal tax protester claims, including the ones in this question, have been repeatedly rejected by the courts as nonsense.
They have been defeated so many times that even bringing them up in court can subject one to fines of up to $25K. It is like going to traffic court and arguing that there is no law requiring one to stop at a red light.
Illegal tax protester leaders are con men who target the same people all con men do: the greedy, the gullible, and the desperate. In the gullible category, conspiracy theorists are often taken in by these cons. |
