CUGGLE | Is there a way to get my friend in the UK a US number in order to avoid deductions of minutes on cell phone? |
My friend lives in England and calls me on my cell phone from his land line. My minutes/air time are being eaten up because only incoming national calls are free through Verizon and not incoming INTERNATIONAL calls. Is there a way for him to get a US number so that when I receive calls FROM him my phone receives it as a national US number that does not affect my air time? HELP! |

I had the same problem when i lived in England and my gf lived in Texas..
You need to get skype on your mobile phone - that way its free to call landlines - then get him to one ring you and then you call him back...
its $9 per month for unlimited calls to England (landlines) and 32 other country's - if you call a mobile it will cost you around 0.25C per minute!
its a bit of a hassle setting it up but once its done, you can talk freely without having to worry about how long your on the phone for and if your going bankrupt! |

if you go here it will tell you how to get calls from the UK the US for as little as 1p per minute you don't have to register with them and the calls go straight on your normal phone bill I have used it myself to call relatives in the states. you don't even do it through the Internet just direct from your own phone at home

I doubt that he wants to pay $1 to $3 per minute to use a US phone to call you from the UK. That's what it costs to roam in Europe with a US phone. |
