Is this a scam? I got this email asking to shift funds for companies with my bank a/c, what do you think?
Below is the email. If you think it's a scam please tell me how you think the scam operates, in detail. Thanks ----------------------------------------...
Marshal's Corp. is now hiring! Dare to earn more and in next to
no time! We are now in need for people willing to take up a position of the Financial Assistant to help out with the remittance of the funds from company's clients worldwide.
As the business is being run on the large scales we lose a lot
by disbursing taxes, that's why we need you to interchange the amounts and help us at least reduce the tax burden. Your personal proceeds in this case would be 5%-7% out of every transaction operation which is on the regular basis equal to around 2500$ a month.

Requirements:
- Need to be aged 18 +; - No criminal record ; - Regular Internet access; - Basic knowledge of Accounting;
- Ability to accept payments using your bank account
- Ability to resend the money through Western Union.
Additional Details
If feel qualified ,please, provide the following to start up:
- Fist Name:
- Last Name:
- Age:
- Sex:
- Country:
- State, City, Zip:
- Phone number( home and cell):
- Valid email address:

NOTE:!!!! the email address you use to contact us for the first time is: ......@gmail.com , in the subject field put "interested".

Please, use only mentioned address, otherwise we'll fail to receive your response.

Into the future
I'm thinking this is a scam, for a couple of reasons:

1) "We need you to 'interchange' the amounts" sounds to me like they want you to utilise someone else's bank account. While there may be legitimate reasons for some organisations to do this, such as getting aid funds in and out of countries where there is no banking system, such transactions are rare and reluctantly done, not advertised anonymously on the internet

2) It reads very similarly to the Nigerian Scam letters of previous years, shorn of the high flown language and waffle about mysterious millions from uncheckable sources

3) Western Union is a cash to cash transfer system, where dubious transactions could be done quite anonymously and without much of a paper/electronic trail

4) It's offering 'money for nothing'. There's no such thing

5) The emphasis on the target being of good character switches attention from asking questions to trying to prove oneself

6) They are not even bothering to insinuate, instead saying straight out that they are wanting people to help them avoid tax. This is a criminal matter everywhere. At the least they are inviting their potential 'employees' to commit a criminal offence.

Personally, it reminds me so much of the so-called Nigerian scam, it just has the same feel.

A colleague contacted the Federal Police about a similar email a while back and they were great, really helpful. They said they are keen for people to contact them, because it helps track where these scams are originating from.

Many 'Nigeran scam' operatots have been caught due to people helping the cops in various countries.

The ACCC also apparently have some helpful information about these type of scams, in fact they have a new publication "The little black book of scams" which you can download for free. Really, lol.

I've put some links below which give interesting information, including a 'scam baiting one' which someone in the ASF group did and had some fun with. I didn't because I don't want to risk being targetted, but it's an interesting read :-)

Cheers :-)

Absolutely a scam, and a common one. The first few payments might go through, but eventually something will bounce (and yes, this can happen even after it has apparently cleared your bank) and you'll be out whatever money you sent off to them.

You know my dear, there are just two persons in this world and this are those that fool others and the ones that allow themselves to be fooled. The email you've received is trying to lure you in investing on their ghost business. They're involving a cash fund informing you that it would benefit you as well as their business on the internet. Seems odd and you should'nt trust such offers. What you do is to just inform them that you will be first doing a background investigation on their company profile. Believe me, they'll stop.
