Yes, there is a valid UK National Lottery.

However, if you have received an email saying that you have won the UK National Lottery, but requiring you to pay some money to collect your "prize", then it's definately a scam!

There are millions of these scam emails sent out every day, and unfortunately there are still many people falling for them and getting ripped off.

Valid lotteries would never ask you to pay out money to collect your prize, so if there is any mention of having to pay out some money to someone then you can be sure that it's a scam and should just delete it!

If tiy are a UK resident who bought a ticket, and the numbers on your ticket were drawn, then it's true. But if you got an email saying that you won, no it's a scam. I've gotten those emails a number of times.

To Avoid scams here is what i tell people...
All spam emails/unsolicited phone calls/letters and faxes are scams.
As a general rule - ANYTHING involving Western Union/money gram = Scam.
my Advice: Don't deal with anyone out of state or from a foreign country or Accept or cash checks from strangers and never use wire/bank transfer services.. you risk losing your $$ and your mind.
Remember, if it sounds too good
to be true, it probably is! NEVER(ever) give out your personal information to strangers online or offline! Always be on guard.

ANYTHING like this that you get in an email, is a SCAM. Never give out any persoanl details to these people at all. Ignore the email and block the sender. However, you can, if you wish, copy/paste the email on a UK Fraud site, they will investigate, and pass all the revelant information onto the correct authorities. I chose to do this. These people MUST be stopped. I hope this has been of some help to you :)
