Anyone filing with Turbo Tax will get paper checks. I just got off the phone with the IRS and it was expalained that the refund you got was from the Turbo Tax people and therefore not a real direct deposit into your account. I bet there will be lots of pissed off people. Good news is they start the paper checks next week. |

Nowhere does it say that anyone will 100% definitely have a rebate today. It states "transmitted no later then today". Depending on how your bank handles ACH deposits..it may be a few days later. |

I used Turbo Tax and I did get my direct deposit. On TT's website, there's a statement about it.
It depends on how you paid Turbo Tax for their service:
I paid them with a credit card, and my direct deposit of my original tax refund said "US Treasury 220". So my refund came directly from the IRS and they could give me a dd again this time.
Some people paid by having TT deduct it from their refund. So for those people, what actually happened was they authorized TT to have their refund go to a third party bank (Santa Barbara something?) who then gave you a direct deposit and paid TT. The IRS only had the direct deposit information for that third party bank, not for you. They aren't dd to third parties this time, so they're sending checks to those people. (Even if you put the information for dd on your return, if you had TT take their payment from your refund, that's the information the IRS received) |

Check your bank records. If your original refund had "US TREASURY 220" as the ACH notation, then you can expect a direct deposit of the rebate (delayed if you filed late, amended, etc.).
If the original refund says "SBBT" or something else instead of US Treasury, you will get the rebate as a paper check.
While the schedule was moved up, the first round of direct deposit continues on Monday and next Friday (next two sets of SSN numbers). |

I don't know why you don't have it.
But I DO know that TurboTax is not the blame. If you did a true direct deposit (no fees deducted from your refund), a turbotax tax return is no different than any other tax return at this point in the game. |

It looks like Turbo Tax users are getting paper checks! I have also been waiting all day checking my bank. I am going to call IRS to confirm. I will let you know. |

My soc. ends in 03....I used Turbo Tax and direct deposit...NOTHING! The IRS web site has a search engine where you plug in your info, but it is useless, it says they can't tell me where it is....... |

v b is right this is directly from the turbo tax website:
What if I paid to file my 2007 taxes with my refund money using Santa Barbara Bank & Trust?
Even if you have received or will receive your tax refund by direct deposit to your bank account, the IRS will not do the same for your tax rebate in this instance. It will mail your rebate instead.
In its preparations for issuing rebates, the IRS decided that taxpayers who entered into financial transactions with third parties, such as Santa Barbara Bank & Trust (the taxpayer and TurboTax being the first two parties), would receive their rebates by mail.
This applies only to TurboTax customers who used the "refund transfer" or RT service when filing their 2007 tax returns. The service lets you pay for your tax preparation and/or e-filing from your refund proceeds, for an additional fee, under an agreement with the bank. This allows customers to pay using their refunds, rather than credit cards.
This IRS decision also applies to taxpayers who used "refund anticipation loans" or RALs (loans made to tax filers against their expected refunds) on their 2007 returns. TurboTax does not offer RALs. |

OK When I printed my taxes out from turbo tax 1040A in the refund section it has my routing # and bank account info in 43b and 43d , so I think that the IRS has that info. NO? I did have the fees deducted from my return, but that shouldn't matter if they have your bank account info. |
