From KY: The pva office should have the recorded name of the owner of record of the property. You will need to know the address of the property. Once you have the owner of records name then go to the index of records in the county clerks office to look up the deed, there should be a copy there. You will need to know the approxomate year when the property was recorded, also if you know that a mortage is recorded then the recorded mortage will reference the deed book and page it is recorded in. The county clerk should be able to help you to find it. Of course you can always employ a professional person but it is not that difficult to find. |

I would say go to the court house to start with, getting them to check with your current address and see if they can find it that way. Also try the place where they do the title search for titles to vehicles at too, and good luck hope you find your deed. |

Take your tax receipt (for property identification) to the county courthouse. .Look up the last xfer of title+check for any liens or judgments.Or go to a title insurance company and pay them to do it for you. |

Go to the county courthouse, then go the county clerk and explain your situation. this person should be able to help you get a replacement. Or if the house is not yours ask to see the abstract book to that property and it will show all deed owners. public record. Good luck |
