Agree, they idiot more people will gonna buy their stuff online to avoid tax and business will has to move cause of result. Why would I pay a retail price + 10+% sales tax for the same item i can get online that usually lower than retail price + free shipping and no sales tax on some site. |

If Arnie has his way, my sales tax will be 9.25%. Stupid politicians just keep heaping the anguish and suffering on families and making the economy worse and worse.
I'd be happy to approve sales tax increases that are tied to automatic salary increases. Until then, stop trying to kill us.
Edit: And you can't escape by purchasing online. In lieu of a sales tax, for online purchases you must pay a "use tax" equal to the sales tax. Once people head online in droves, the gestapo will come after the people in droves to get that money - plus usury in penalties and interest for not claiming it in the first place. Evil thieves. |

My reaction? Well, it would be a good thing, if it was put to a good use.
It is several percent higher than the state sales tax. So I assume the difference is due to some local law. Do you know what law or program LA has put in place, that it expects to fund with that additional tax? That would be the key. I hope it goes towards some worthwhile cause. |
