The type of service you used to file your taxes doesn't matter, as far as the rebate goes, UNLESS you had your tax preparation fees deducted from your refund OR got a rapid refund. In those two cases, you will get a paper check, instead of a direct deposit. |

But did you have your fees deducted from your return? That makes the difference when you are talking about Turbo Tax or H&R B.
If your fees were taken out of your return, then you will get a paper check.
I used TT freedom Edition. No fees. Had refund DD into my account. It came from US Treasury. I should get DD. |

I used turbo tax, had refund direct deposited without paying any fees. I received my rebate direct deposit at 8:00 am this morning. My ssn is 75. |

Why is it Bush's fault that you gave your bank information to Santa Barbara Bank and Trust? The IRS doesn't have you bank info...they have SBB&T. I guess they should forward your rebate to them and SBB&T can charge you outrageous fees to forward it to you. |

i did not get my check today either for May 9th, my soc falls under those guidelines too,.. i used Tax Act and had to amend my return too... so that could be one of the reasons for delay, no luck in reaching the IRS |

Taxpayers who use Refund Anticipation Loans (RALs) or enter into any other loans or financial agreements with a tax professional, such as agreeing to have return preparation fees deducted from their refunds, cannot receive their stimulus payments by direct deposit and instead will get paper checks based on the paper check distribution schedule. |

If you had fees taken out of your return your refund will be delayed. Iv'e heard it will arrive by paper check and not direct deposit. |

Ah ha I found it.
Will my economic stimulus payment be direct deposited into the same bank account?
No. With the recent enactment of the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, TurboTax does not ask for deposit information for your economic stimulus payment.
Although the IRS encouraged tax filers to elect to have their rebates deposited directly into their bank accounts, some filers will only be able to receive theirs by mail. They include filers who conducted certain financial transactions, such as paying filing fees from the proceeds of their tax refunds, using third parties, such as SBB&T. |

Turbotax is not the problem. If your fees came out of your refund or you got a RAL, a 3rd party was involved and this results in a a paper check. This is also true with other tax programs and tax services.
In other words, how you filed is irrelevant, it's how you paid your fees. Turbotax did nothing wrong and is not "screwing" anyone. |

Anyone who used Turbotax, Tax Act or any other online filing system your check will be mailed. The lady I talked to from the IRS said that the reason it wasn't direct deposited because of a system error. |

Well, your not alone. I did not receive my direct deposit either. There seems to be alot of problems with the deposits. I used Turbo tax. But, I also have a co-worker who used HR Block, and she received her money today. If anyone has any further information, pass it on. |

Yes I have this problem. I actually used H&R Block: I e-filed with them and I paid my fees *separately via my credit card (I didn't have them deducted from my tax refund)* YET I still haven't received my stimulus check. I thought I would get it directly deposited on May 9 and I haven't. All I see here is that people will get a paper check IF they had their fees deducted from their rebate. I paid them the money via credit card and still don't have my stimulus check. Anyone know when I'll get it or should I contact someone?? |

If your tax preparer took out the fees for preparing your tax refund OR took out the electronic filing fee from your tax return, then you will get your check when the paper checks go out. Also, if you had your tax refund divided up and put into more than one account, this will lead to a paper check as well.
If you paid all fees up front in cash or out of your checking account, then the money should be direct deposited today. |

this isn't entirely true. although mine should have shown today and hasn't as of yet, my mother filed hers a few days prior to filing mine, using the same program, and her rebate was in the bank two days ago. |

Yeah, I thought I was supposed to get it today too. My social falls on the direct deposit day of the 9th.

If filing or preparation fees were deducted from your 2007 Refund or you received a rapid refund, you will be receiving a check instead of a direct deposit. Please see the Paper Check section of the Payment Schedule. |

I used turbotax to file mine and instead of paying the fees with credit card I had them deducted from tax rufund. So there for my refund came from a 3rd party bank and not initially the IRS. So looks like a paper check for you too! |

Well mine should have been today (9th) but nothing and the IRS where's my stimulus gives me no info. I used TaxAct and am under the impression now that if you used TurboTax or TaxAct and had fees taken out of your refund you will get a paper check. Had I known that, I would have paid it upfront. Now my paper check is supposed to be out June 20th. |

If you had your tax preparation fees taken out of your refund, then you will be getting a paper check. It was in the fine print that no one read when hearing about the rebate.
I think the IRS figured Turbo Tax, H&R Block, Jackson Hewitt and others would charge tax payers for processing the direct deposit, so the IRS is just sending those tax payers a paper check. |

I just got off the phone w/ the IRS. My tax lady used Taxact.com and I received the rapid refund. Well b/c of this I will be recieving a paper check mailed out on June 20th. I think this is bull and a way for the IRS to screw us just a little more! |
