If you are single, you don't have to file taxes if you made less than $8,750. If you are married and filing jointly, then you don't haev to file taxes if you made less than $17,500.
If you are dependent, then you don't have to file taxes if you made less than $5,350 of earned income.
However, even if you don't have to file, you probably should if you had any federal taxes taken out of your check. You will get most if not all of them back as a refund. |

If you are single and under 65 years old you only have to file if you make $8,750 during 2007.
or if you are Married but filing a separate return from your spouse $3,400 during 2007 |

If you made $400 or more from self-employment, you have to file.
Otherwise the limit is $5350 if you are single and a dependent, $8750 if you are single and not a dependent. There are other limits depending on your filing status and your age |

I think it's 3400 (the standard deduction), but I'm pretty sure if you're self employed and make over 300, you have to file.
If you made over 3400 though I'm pretty sure it's required. |

No matter what you made... even if it was less than one dollar... you have to file taxes. I learned that the hard way.... the IRS is like a mean grandmother, they never forget, they may not get to you right away... but sooner or later the hit you in the back of your head... and it really hurts too. |

Not true. I think it is somewhere around $600.00. You need to file your taxes. Besides, you must file your taxes in order to be eligible for the tax rebate they are getting ready to issue. |
