My friend is leaving UK for good. Can he claim all of his N.I that he has paid to date from inland revenue?

No it is not possible to claim back any National Insurance. Your friend will probably be able to claim some of his income tax back assuming that he did not work a whole tax year. He can do this be contacting the Inland Revenue or using a website such as www.taxfix.co.uk or www.digitaxuk.com which make things a little easier.

Mr Sceptic
No. It's insurance. He can't claim back any car, house, life or contents insurance either.

knickersknight
No way....you can't claim back NI in any circumstances...he may be entitled to a tax rebate depending on circumstances but he'd need to speak to inland revenue about that..

peter o
no he can not he use the doctor/hospital. and thats why we pay it .

No. he will probably come back when he needs free NHS or cant find a job and wants to claim benefet. Or what happen when he reach pension age.He will be able to claim a state pension based on the contributions he has made

sarch_uk
I'm afraid not...

Well, if he hasn't used ANY of the services NI is used to pay for, then I'm sure HM Inland Revenue would love to talk to him.....

luddite
Of course not. Does he seriously expect us to believe he never used the NHS once, or claimed any kind of benefit.
It's insurance anyway, not a tax.
