I'd leave it alone. It's a bonus after all. It's not like it was money that the government Owed you. |

It's not wrong. You and your husband only qualified for $600 for both of you. Your 3 children were $300 each. That's $1500.
The $1200 you probably thought you were getting was the maximum. The website states that qualified taxpayers who file married jointly may get UP TO $1200 depending on your tax liability. You apparently did not make enough to qualify for the maximum of $1200. |

ITS PROBABLY CORRECT. . . its 600-1200 for married couples 3 kids = 900 so 900+600=1500, so you qualified for the least amount. |

Not its correct. Its $600 per couple ... then $300 per child ... so that $1,500 |

If your AGI was between $110K and $150 and you got phased out of some portion of the child tax credit on your return, your rebate will be incorrect! The same thing happened to us. I talked to the IRS and they said that their computer is erroneously basing the $300 per child on the amount of your child tax credit rather than the number of qualifying children, which is what it is supposed to be based on. Since we were totally phased out of the child credit with an AGI of 149K, we got NO rebate for our 2 qualifying children. They said to write them a letter about it!!! They need to fix it NOW. |

How much were you expecting? Unless your 2007 tax liability was over $600 you'd get $600 for the two of you, plus $300 for each kid under age 17, so $1500 sounds right unless you paid over $600 income tax for the year. |

That amount might very well be right because unless you gross income was 35,000 you didnt get the whole 1,200 for married couples and then 300 each for the kids sounds right to me if you grossed less then 35,000 me and my hubby as well we didnt gross 35,000 so we didnt get 1,200 for married couples we only got 600 and then we have 2 kids so we are only getting 1,200 |

Each of you received $300, so it is correct.
The rebate payment will equal the amount of tax liability on the return (tax liability on the return Form 1040 line 46 or Form 1040A line 28) with a minimum amount of $300 and a maximum amount of $600 for individuals.
If you did not receive full amount of $600 now, then you may get the balance amount when you file your 2008 return, and you become eligible for the tax rebate.
For information on stimulus tax rebate schedule, the eligibility and how much rebate you will get read: http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/02/are-you-eligible.html |

Q. I received my stimulus payment, but it was less than what my friends and neighbors received. Why?
A. Your economic stimulus payment will be based on information provided on your 2007 income tax return.
Many, but not all, taxpayers qualify for the maximum basic payment of $600 for singles or $1,200 for married couples. Many parents are also receiving an additional $300 for each qualifying child, born after Dec. 31, 1990.
Your payment may be less than the maximum for one or more of the following reasons:
You are single and your net income tax liability is less than $600. If you file Form 1040 net income tax liability is the amount shown on Line 57, plus the amount on Line 52.
You are married and your net income tax liability is less than $1,200.
You are single and your adjusted gross income (AGI) is more than $75,000. On Form 1040, AGI is the amount on Line 37.
You are married filing a joint return and your AGI is more than $150,000.
You owe back taxes.
You have non-tax federal debts such as unpaid student loans or child-support obligations.
Around the same time you receive your payment, you will receive a notice from the IRS explaining how your payment was figured. It is important to keep this notice as a record of your economic stimulus payment. In addition, you’ll get a separate notice if you owe back taxes or non-tax debts.
The “ Stimulus Payments: Answers to Frequently Asked Questions” section of this Web site has further details on how these payments are figured. |

I would check the calculation on the IRS website.
Its possible your income was high and they had to adjust your amount.
You probably received 300 per child and the rest was for you and your husband |

You can call the IRS and see what they say. It does depend on the age of your children. It's free money. |
