Why did he think the $600 was for him aqnd not for you? On a joint return you get one payment, and that's the total for both of you.
Your understanding that a couple filing jointly would get $600 each is not correct. You get at least $300 each if you qualify. You get UP TO $1200 total, if your tax liability for 2007 was $1200 or more. Apparently yours was $600 or less, so you got $600, total for both of you. |

The rebate amount is based on your tax liability. if you and your husband PAID IN 1200 or more intaxes then you would have recieved 1200. IF you PAID IN LESS than 600 you would recieve 600, any amount between 600 -1200 you would recieve that exact amount. |

Your rebate is based on your tax liability. And if you have kids thats an extra $300.00 per child. The $600.00 is for the both of you. You get one check. |

Did you file jointly? If not, you will probably receive your check separately. If that is the case, you will have to qualify separately as well. So as long as you're cool to receive it, go to the irs.gov site and see if it was sent or call the hotline number on there. |

Hi,
You will receive the rebate of $600 in your tax return only if you have a SSN. If you have SSN you can call IRS and check your economic stimulus rebate status. |

if you filed jointly you should receive 1200 if you made less than 150000 last year together. my husband and i received ours in a combined check so i would definitely look into it. as long as you dont owe back taxes you should get the full amount. you can also put in your information from your tax papers on www.irs.gov and they will tell you what you should get. they also have a list of possible reasons you dont get the full amount. |

Not to sound racist but are you a legal resident with a valid social security card because a lot of people who are going through the legalization are not getting there money you can try going to the www.irs.gov website for more answers to your questions hope this helps good luck |

Do you work? If not I don't think you are eligible for the $600. In my case (I'm a housewife) I was told we would only receive $600 for my working husbands part. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. |
