If I didnt even file my taxes can she tell, and will she be able to find out anything about my income. based off what she gets when she claims me as a dependent? Additional Details i lived with her for half the year..and she supported me that half |

No she can't find out anything about your income or filing status.
If she supported you for more than 50% last year and can prove it she can claim you. If you claim yourself the IRS will disallow one of them. |

She should not file and call you a dependent if you are not a dependent. Later. if you want to apply for college, your financial aid will be very hard to get if you are still a dependent. The financial aid people will ask for your mother's tax forms, and if they see you were declared a dependent, no funding for school. If you are independent, great and sad.
If you need to declare independence, do it as soon as possible.
If your mother is so strong, then she shouldn't need the extra cash.
It is strange when mothers feel they can use their children this way. |

The only way she can claim you while you lived outside of her home, is if she paid 51% or more of your bills. Otherwise you have to live in her home for 10 months or more for her to claim you. If she did pay for 51% or more of your bills you guys better have recipts to prove it. |

if you've already filed a single tax payer. calling you a dependent is fraud and you're an accomplice if you do not report it. |

i would let her do it only if she is going to give you some of the money from her return. She will get a good bit more by claming you as opposed to you claiming yourself. If she won't give you some of the money then no |

She will get more back if she claims you, but did you work and support yourself for over 6 months? If so you are well within your rights to do your own. She has known for many years that this day was coming. She can not claim you legally if she did not provide over half of your support and you lived by yourself over six months. Otherwise its just if you want her to. |

If you lived with her for over half of 2007, even one day over half, and you didn't provide over half of your own support for the year, then she can claim you for 2007.
She won't be able to find out anything about your income if she claims you for 2007, but she will know that you didn't claim yourself. |

Let her file, It may raise an audit flag for her or you, it may not, why would you let her get a bigger refund if you wont get a kick back on it? IF she is not supporting you then she is claiming you illegally its tax fraud. |

I think I answered yourr question earlier.
Since you have not filed them, she cannot find out how much you made last year. YOUR income is YOUR buisness.
I dont know what to say if your mother is going to claim you. The IRS will send you a letter, and if they do... ignore it and the same letter will be sent to your mother, and she will have to pay. |
