I was sued and had a judgement against me and now my paychecks are being garnished. Now what if I quit that job and get another one, how long before they find me or will they search?

Don't you realize that a loan is something that needs to be repaid? It is not and never was free money. I would recommend being content with what they are taking out of your checks now, and pay an additional amount on that each week (or month), to pay it off as quick as you can.

To answer your question: you would need to be getting paid cash every week for them not to be able to find it. Also, the money in your bank account could suddenly disappear if you happen to switch jobs or try to evade paying your loans off. You could also fake your death, but that's illegal.

They will hunt you down a garnish the next check. You will never escape paying what you owe. Just get it over with, the longer you screw around trying to hide, the more you will pay in interest and fees.

As soon as your new employer pays in on your taxes and social security. This will not go away until you take care of it.They will use any tax refund you are due as well.

If you want to find other job so go to Texas, Pennsylvania and one more state I cant remember which one that will NOT get your wages garnished by law. I hope this helps!

garnishments will follow you until they are paid off - do you really want to quit in this bad economy with unemployment at a 20 yr high?? - pay your debts.

In order to get a job you need to provide a SSN, taxes and where they come from go on that SSN, will find you within a month, and by then you will have accrued additional penalties and fees so you will only owe more

Eventually they will find you again, and again, and again. You really can't run from the IRS and you really don't want them to come and LOOK for you!!

Call them and see if they will work with you... you never know what might happen worst case scenario you end up in the same position you are in now, nothing lost nothing gained. Good luck!!
