My payment plan came in the mail for my stimulus check and it says we'll get $600?
We are married and should get $1200. Anyone know anything about this?

Navajo Spirit
Geez people calm down, everybody wants their stimulus checks NOW and the MAXIMUM amount...we are definitely in a recession.

The rebate for a married couple is UP TO $1200, not a flat $1200. To get the full $1200 you have to have paid that much in federal income tax for 2007, otherwise your amount is whatever you paid in, but if you paid in under $600 you get $600.

My husband and I are getting $1200 ( I checked the irs website) and we paid $4036 in taxes last year.

then that means you did not quailify for the whole amount it is only up to 1200 you must have got 300 for you and 300 for your husband

My wife and I got $1200 but we paid $7000 in taxes for last year.

maybeanotherday
the rebate is up to 1200 not a guaranteed 1200. you didn't qualify.

mudbug
look on line 44 of your Form 1040. If that number is less than $1,200. you did not qualify for the maximum amount.

Bob F
The minimum is $600, the maximum is $1200 (both numbers for a married couple). The actual amount is determined by your tax liability on your 2007 tax return which is based on how much money you made and how many deductions you had. You may want to read the details on the IRS web site ( http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=181991,00.html ) and run their calculator ( http://www.irs.gov/app/espc/ ).
