If you filed through a tax preparer like H&R Block, and got a rapid refund or RAL, then your rebate will NOT be direct deposited - you'll get a paper check. Also, if you filed through a tax preparer and had the preparation fees deducted from your refund, you will NOT get your rebate direct deposited - you'll get a paper check.
If you have federal student loans that went into default, owe back child support, or owe money to the IRS, your rebate will be taken for those.
If none of the above applies to you, and you haven't received your rebate within a week of the date the IRS said it would be direct deposited by, I would call the IRS directly. |

My last two digits are 74. According to WWW.IRS.GOV I should recieve a direct deposit on May 9th. According the the payment calculator on WWW.IRS.GOV I should recieve 1500 dollars. My Deposit from my refund said US TREASURY on my bank statement. Yet Friday May 9th has come and gone, and I got NOTHING. I too am VERY worried. |

My stimulus check was supposed to be direct deposit based on my last two numbers (27) by May 9th... still not there. I am very worried about this because other co-workers have received theirs... one in particular has (51) and got theirs Friday. Am worried because it's been in the local newspaper (times herald record Middletown edition) for the past several days that the IRS is making major errors with this payment. People are not getting payments and are finding out that their money was deposited into someone else's account. I plan on spending the day on the phone tomorrow (12th) on hold if I have to, until I find out what is going on. So my suggestion to you... YES be very worried about your missing money. |

If you provided your bank account information on your tax return, you will get by direct deposit.
Also in the first lot only those whose return was processed by April 15, 2008 are getting the rebate.
Go to www.irs.gov. Click Where is my Refund? Then click Status of my Stimulus Rebate. or #01-866-234-2942

There telling us that there going to be direct deposited, but really it going to be a paper check. Mine is past due also, so I tend to think that it coming in the form of a check. Hope this helps |

A lot of people have thought they were getting direct deposit but for whatever reason aren't, so are assuming they'll get it earlier than they really are.
Check your bank statement from when the original refund came - if it says "US Treasury" you should be OK for direct deposit as long as that account is still open, and you didn’t split your refund into multiple accounts. Otherwise, you’ll get a paper check |
