Probably yes.
IRS publication 501 deals with dependents and exemptions.
go to www.irs.gov and search on publication 501 |

As long as they lived with you at least 6 months and you provided over half their support then yes, you can. |

Kicck the deadbeats out. I feel for you and the grandchild. |

Yes you can. If each of them earned less than $3400, then you can claim them as dependents, and of course the baby. You must be supporting them, and even with the food stamps, it sounds like your are. Why aren't they working at something!?! |

You can claim all depending on if:
They all have lived with you for half of the year and receive more then one half of support from you. If not then they will not qualify. Your grandchild applies under the qualifying child. But the two adults must have a max gross income of 3400 in 2007 to qualify. |

If you have supported them in your home for more than six months you most certainly can claim them as dependents.
(And hopefully you will give them a deadline for growing up and becoming responsible parents to that baby of theirs!) |

If over 18 they would need to be full time students. you can claim the baby if neither of them do. |
