File a joint return,
The Standard deduction for Married Filing Joint is 10.300.00 and you get the exemption amount of 3,300.00 for both you and your spouse.
If you were to file separately the standard deduction would only be 5,150.00 and you would only be claiming 1 exemption for 3,300.00 |

Yes, file a joint return. You could file seperate, but then you would lose out on getting the maximum refund due to not having a person as a deductible person (Exemption) on the return.
If you file jointly, her taxes are done already. |

You should file a joint return simply because your taxes will be less. If you file as married and claim 2 dependents you will be much better off due to the extra deduction you get for being married. Doe's not matter if your wife works or not. |

You don't have to file a joint return, you could file as married filing separately, but you'll pay less tax if you file joint. If you file separately, no, she doesn't have to file also if she had no income, but if she has other income like from investments, then she'd have to file if her income was over $3300. |

Yes you do, but no she doesn't have to file her taxes unless she has done any kind of work to earn money and has recieved a W-2....but yes since your married you have a joint return |

If you don't file jointly and claim your wife you will pay more in taxes.
Married filing seperately only get a $5050 exemption ($7000 something if you have a kid) and a married couple gets $10100.
Then you get to subtract her as a dependent too. Why would you not include her in the taxes?
You have much to gain by doing so. |
