Council tax is reliant on the people living in the property, not the owner of the property, so it's your wife's responsibility.

If the occupants are students, for example, they pay a reduced rate, as would the owner if the property was empty.

Courtney's mummy
Your wife should be paying the council tax unless he rtenancy agreement said it was in cluded in the price of the rent

Lestat
Your wife is responsible for the council tax

Drummer
Your wife is responsible if she is still living there to pay council tax.

She is responsible usually for her own council tax unless landlord said otherwise.

She has to pay for it,unless the landlord offers to pay it (which doesn´t happen very often).Sorry!

Aitch
That would depend what agreements there were in her tenancy agreement. It should tell you there

Hope this helps

deadrat
You do.

SOPHIE H
The tenant is resposible for paying council tax, which is calculated depending on how much the property is worth.

If you claim certain benefits, it gets paid for you.
