No federal tax on a work check?
I got a new job a few weeks ago and my first 2 paychecks had federal, state, soc sec, and medicare taxes, but today I got my third paycheck and it doesn't have a federal tax but it did have the other three. So is there a reason, or why did this happen?

Are gross amounts of the paychecks (before withholding) the same? If the amount of pay is lower than a minimum determined by the number of allowances claimed on your W-4, then no federal income tax is withheld.

very likely your gross was low enough that the minimum amount for withholding was not reached
it might depend greatly on the manner you filed your W-4

Max Hoopla
The correct income tax withholding for what you earned was zero.

It could have happened because your W-4 has now been processed and your federal withholding should be zero.

Did you earn less this pay period? Maybe you dropped below the amount where tax would be withheld based on your W-4 and earnings.

Did you change your W-4?

If neither of these, talk to your payroll dept, sounds like something changed in their system. Maybe your W-4 just got entered, and the first two checks they were taking out for single/zero.
