Obama to raise taxes?
Everyone is saying obama is gonna raise taxes has anyone seen his plan where are you people getting this info from.

Families making more than $250,000 will pay either the same or lower tax rates than they paid in the 1990s. Obama will ask the wealthiest 2% of families to give back a portion of the tax cuts they have received over the past eight years to ensure we are restoring fairness and returning to fiscal responsibility. But no family will pay higher tax rates than they would have paid in the 1990s. In fact, dividend rates would be 39 percent lower than what President Bush proposed in his 2001 tax cut.

HAVE ANY OF YOU EVEN READ ANY OF OBAMA'S PLANS?!!
Additional Details
like i said earlier his plan is to help MIDDLE CLASS...i am middle class i dont make nowhere near 250k 100k no where near that..that is why he won the U.S. is made up of people in the same class as I. corporations need to stop being greedy and share the wealth then they can prosper.. that is what you people do NOT UNDERSTAND!

yes I have and his tax plan also involves taxing corporations more. Are you are forgetting basic economics? when you raise taxes on corporations they will tend to hire fewer people, so those that make less will probably be the first to be let go, or the company will charge more for products and services to cover the taxes guess who gets the bill. take a look at china a country that has taken the "spread the wealth around" moto look at where it got them, or our neighbors Canada with socialized healthcare, they come to the US for healthcare.

Who are they in competition with...another company that is going to raise their price because of tax increases, unless it is from another country.

I worked for a company that went bankrupt...the first to go were the low income people. They are paid less because they are less vital to the company. Replacing someone in management is harder on a company because someone in that position has knowledge specific to the company. Just because they are paid less doesn't mean there isn't a large impact financially to the company.

So let me get this straight so basically he taking rich people taxes (∂ percentage ) of their taxes and giving it to us or what

Craig T
Honey, you can read all you want about what he SAYS, ACTION speaks louder than words

the fact is Obama has voted ZERO times for tax DECREASES and voted 100% for tax INCREASES

The other FACT is that the middle class paid LOWER taxes under Bush and much HIGHER taxes in the 1990's under Clinton. Which means that by your own admission Obama is saying he WILL RAISE taxes over that they are now for virtually all taxpayers

here are some facts for you courtesy of the Dept of the Treasury

the top 1% of taxpayers pay 33.7% of all income taxes
the top 5% pay 53.8% of all income taxes
the top 10% pay 65% of all income taxes
the top 25% pay 82.7% of all income taxes
the bottom 50% of all taxpayers pay less than 4% of all income taxes

The FACTS are that under Bush the amount of income taxes paid by the top 1% and 5% has INCREASED

Obama won primarily because he is charismatic and a good speaker which McCain is not. Another reason he won is because people are too stupid and gullible to actually CHECK the FACTS to see the veracity of Obama's claims

Should be interesting asking people to give back a portion of tax cuts they never recieved

the IRONY is that each tax cut since 1980 under Republican presidents has INCREASED the taxes paid by the top 5% of income earners

You may want to note that in 1995 (the 1990's that you referred to) the top 1% about 30.3% of all taxes (now pay 33.7%) and the top 5% paid 48.9% (now pay 53.8%) so you see in the 1990's the other 95% paid MORE in taxes and MORE of the taxes than they do under the "giving tax breaks to their rich buddies Republicans"

Why you are so excited about going back to a time when YOU had to pay more and pay a higher percentage of the taxes I have no idea

What I fail to understand is why you think you have any right to someone else's money. Like you, I don't make $250,000 a year. But I don't see why someone who does make that much needs to give me any of it.

Should the Red Sox "share the wealth" to the Phillies and make everything a tie game? Should your teacher take a few points off of your good test score to give to the kid that didn't do as well? Are you being greedy by wanting the credit for the effort you put into studying for an exam? It's the same as the surgeon or CEO or lawyer or football star being paid as much as he can earn for what he does well.

As for corporations, they exist to make money for their shareholders. Some, like Costco, have taken on a social responsibility. Their shareholders approve and that is admirable. But again, they have no community responsibility. They must provide a worthwhile product or service. If they don't, or if they cheat, they will fail, and will certainly be punished by the markets of not by the courts.

Regrettably, corporations are not allowed to fail, and they get billions of injections of tax dollars so that wheezing industries like autoworkers or mortgage bankers won't go under.

And just as the bankers and corporate titans have no right to my money, neither should you.

I'm willing to listen should you be able to convince me otherwise, but I'm saddened by the staggering lack of knowledge about economics and the toddler-like "gimme gimme" attitude that seems to pervade our society these days.

Here is the latest on proposed taxes.

The brookings institute is a good website to view all the updates on tax proposals, and the are not a partisan group. They're just reporting what's there to report.

Different economists always have varied opinions and views.

Watch Fox News!

This is the information that was released by the liberal news which is why Obama was elected despite the fact that we really do not know anything about him. Taxes will be around 40% for single people who make $120,000 and $250,000 for couples. He will actually increase by about 3 billion the national debt.

Thy lied. Good thing the people saw through it.

Yes, prepare to be raised. Our country will be devasated by Obama's scheme and widespread unemployment is going to occur.

I'm sorry to say this, but Obama's supporters are liberals, and lliberals give their support based on emotion, like buying a car without considering the negatives. I really believe they have been caught up with Obama and have evaluated him with rose colored glasses.

Obama's agenda would have worked and been suitable for the USSR, but it will not work in America.

@pagodaboy2001

What kind of logic is that? Those who make less will probably be the LAST to go because they are less of a cost to corporations. People who get paid more that can be replaced with someone who can do just as good of a job but for less pay will probably be the ones to be let go. Corporations MIGHT raise prices on products and services but they run the risk of their competitors undercutting them and stealing their customers... that would be a risky move for any company.

Wow you're misinformed. It's amazing how Obama has gotten people like you to applaud tax increases on corporations. Who do you think foots that bill? Those cost get passed directly onto consumers. It's a backdoor tax increase on the everyone, including the middle class. Wake up.
