for me to be honest.........what i think they should rather FIGHT how to LOWER the cost of FOOD, GAS, MORGAGE or something that will HELP every family to survived to live.

The government, in the long haul, can't do anything to lower the cost of living. If they subsidize an industry, that money has to come from somewhere. They can't "require" an industry to lower their prices.
The free market is efficient, if it is allowed to do its job.
As American's, we need to become more educated, and more competitive at everything we do. The world economy won't sit around and wait for us. Americans also need to learn to save, and get rid of personal debt.
Government spending is out of control. The deficit has to be reduced...if it isn't, there are serious problems on the horizon.
The United States is (and this is merely my opinion) the greatest country in the world. It is full of freedom and opportunity. But if its people don't realize the responsibility before them, that could change.

A second stimulus payment would be nice... but I agree that lower cost of living would be better.
But I think people should be greatful for what we are getting. Pepole are never satisfied no matter what. At least we are getting something! Lol. |

Hate to do this, I agree with David H about reining in spending, but can we do it AFTER we receive the stimulus rebate.
A second one sounds good and probably will later this year too, if gas and groceries keep going up, but what really needs to happen is people need to rein in their own spending. Who really needs a 67" Plasma TV? Pretty soon a dozen eggs will cost as much as a gallon of gas and a gallon of milk will cost as much as a tank of gas. I remember when gas went above $1/gallon and my mom made me start riding the bus to school instead of driving. It was awful!!! hahahha. |

Pelosi is a empty soul. She is as much a Republican and capitalist as Bush. She has alot of properties and investments that would better serve the people she is claiming to serve.
Why doesn't she sell her millions, move to a two bedroom apartment and invest her money in things her mouth talks about.
She speaks but does not do. The most comical sentence she said was during her inauguration:
"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace". She polluted that holy prayer. |

Nope. We don't need amy stimulus payments (Tax rebate checks). They should just focus on getting the economy in line and work to LOWER taxes. Another good thing that the people in the white house can do is put more money into alternative fuel resources, therefore making gasoline obsolete. This will reduce dependency on the Middle East, and might even reduce prices on gas. Unfortunately, I see no way to reduce prices on food (The price is usually decided by the law of supply and demand). Another thing that the gov't can do is cut down on welfare, and make it a little more strict, so it only goes to those people that actually need it, not those people that want welfare just because they don't want to work. So in summary, additional stimulus payments would be nice, but they are not essential and would basically just tighten the noose that is already around the United States economy's neck. |
