If everyone spends it it will actually hurt the economy in the long run. If everyone spends it just imagine what the inflation rate will be. Inflation is what is wrong with the economy. If we can get the inflation rate to 0% everything else in the economy will fall into to place. The Fed should be raising interest rates and NOT lowering them.

To be honest with you I would love to not spend it but being a single mother and a widow with a young child and a cut in his social security benefits due to my deceased husbands ex wife I may have no choice but to spend it. I need stuff for our house, I have some bills to catch up on and I really would like to get clothes in a department store instead of a second hand shop like I have for the past year and a half. |

i agree spending tax rebates check will increase inflation. it would be wiser for people to invest them. i don't think inflation rate needs to be 0%, you can have some amount of inflation and still have healthy economy. as long as the inflation is under control. i'm sick of hearing how people are going to spend their tax rebate check on a plasma high definition television. |
