Question about my 1099-G form?
I was wondering if anyone has received their 1099-G forms yet? I know the IRS website says you just need to know the amount of benefits paid to you but I only claimed benefits twice and it was at the beginning of 2006...I can't remember the exact amount. My address has changed...could that be the delay? Can anyone help? When can I expect it?
Additional Details
Should I call the local office or the main IRS number.

I am in the same situation as you. I moved from North Carolina last year to Iowa I was on unemployment then and collected the first week of the new year and that was it. Well long story short my 1099-g was mailed to my old address and it arrived yesterday however the peorson that lives there just threw it away not thinking about it. Anyway I called NC unemployment office and they gave me the website (the same one used to file weekly claims) and you can retreive all those online now just. Just go get it off that webpage

Dizney
They don't have to be mailed until 1/31/2007. A change in address might delay the mailing.

Rob
The problem is the change of address. did you change your address at the post office when you moved? If you moved more than 6 months ago. you will need to contact the agency that you collected from after Jan 31st to see if they will reissue to your new address, or pick it up. If your move took place within the last 6 months the post office should forward it to you. If you have not gotten it by Feb 15 call the IRS and file a W2 complaint, they will send notice to the payer, make sure to mention that you moved when you call so that the Rep can input your new address to advise the payer of your new mailing address.

The 1099G are being mailed already. Why dont you call the office and let them know you moved and maybe they can send you the form to your new address.

If your address changed, that could be it, My wife got her 1099 already. Call the closest office to whee you are, but call the agency that sends you your money (SSI, etc.) not the IRS.

Irish
The employer has until Feb. 15 to get your 1099 out. You may want to call to change the address with them, or at least ask what is the amount, because that is all you need to know.

You should be able to call the issuing govermental deparptment, and they will be able to send to your new address.

the Boss
They are supposed to be mailed out by January 31st, so perhaps they haven't mailed them yet.

SPIFIMAN1
By law, they have to be postmarked no later than 01/31/07. If you filed a change of address form with the post office when you moved? You should not have a problem. You should receive them no later than the second week in February.
